Memorial Day - Remembering Veterans Who Committed Suicide

On Memorial Day we remember all the veterans that lost their lives so bravely defending our country. While deaths in battle will always be important to remember, there are still thousands of veterans taking their own lives each year dealing with the battle at home. These are lives we can save. A recent VA study showed the number of soldiers that died in Iraq and Afghanistan between 2001 to 2015 was 6,848 while the number of veterans that committed suicide in the U.S. was 7 times more than that. So today I want you to remember the fallen. Remember those who died in battle as well as those who died trying to forget their battle.

This Memorial Day we will be placing this cross memorial in the center of our town. We encourage you to join and place your own memorials in your town and around the country. The dollar store will typically carry mini flags if you are looking for a small display and crosses can be easily made from scrap wood or 2x4s. Remember to tag us on social media so we can share your memorial. Take time today to reflect on all those lost and remember this is not Veterans Day or national BBQ day. I strongly encourage you to do something today to honor the fallen. Whether it be a memorial, visiting a veteran cemetery, veteran monument, or even a simple moment of silence to reflect on those lives lost. Lastly, be the kind of American worth fighting for.

We are in process of launching a new program for our military and veterans! The program is called Veterans to Veterans and will be a care package full of products from veteran owned businesses and will be send to American military and veterans around the world. This program allows us to support veteran owned businesses by helping them with marketing and distribution while also providing morale for the veterans receiving the package. It's a win-win! If you'd like to donate to this program click the link below. Know a veteran or veteran owned business that you think would like to be a part of this program? Contact us!
